Beginners

If you are a beginner to yoga there are different types and styles of classes you can try. For general background information on yoga, please see our Questions section.  Please read about the different styles of yoga and the different teachers to get a feel for the various options. Yoga styles vary a lot, so think about your own needs and what you are looking for from a class. You are welcome to give us a call to chat about the classes. The first and best option if you are a total beginner would be to attend our:

Introduction to Yoga Workshop

In this workshop we talk about what yoga involves, where it comes from and the different styles, and we teach 3 short classes of Hatha, Astanga and Iyengar yoga, to give you a feel for the different styles on offer. There is plenty of time for questions, and time at the end for us to advise you individually on the best classes you can come to. These workshops run on weekends every month or two – check the workshop section for information.

Beginners Courses

General beginners courses run Fridays 11.45-1.15pm with Tessa Bull.

We run regular beginners courses in Astanga Yoga on Wednesdays from 8.15-9.30pm and Mondays 6.30-7.30pm

Weekly classes

There is one Hatha yoga class specifically for beginners:

Sunday 11.30-12.30 - Dawn

There are a number of general level classes which you can attend as a beginner if you are fit and well.

Tuesday 12.30-1.30  - Marie-Flore

Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm - Marie-Flore

Wednesday 9.00-10.00am - Tara

Thursday 9.30-11.00am - Tara

 

Tessa’s Iyengar class is suitable for a beginner to Iyengar Yoga to attend :

Friday 10.00-11.30am - Tessa

The astanga self-practice class is suitable for beginners - please call Nigel if you are thinking about coming to a self-practice class as a beginner.  Saturdays 8.00-10.00am
