| Nigel
Jones has been practicing Astanga Yoga since 1992. He lived
and worked at The Practice Place in Crete (now Yoga Plus)and studied
with Derek Ireland for 2 years. He returned to London in 1996, where
he continued to practice with John Scott. Subsequently Nigel took
the British Wheel of Yoga Teacher's Diploma.
He
has been teaching Astanga Yoga classes, courses and workshops in
London since 1996. He has taught in most of London's Yoga Centres
and has taken many students from beginners level to becoming teachers
themselves. Being naturally rather a stiff person, he has much sympathy
with people of a similar constitution. He likes to encourage all
types of people to take up yoga, not just the strong and flexible.
His classes are friendly and un-intimidating and he encourages students
to achieve some sort of autonomy in their Yoga practice, where they
can begin to think and make decisions for themselves, without dogmatic
interference from a teacher. He has a very hands-on approach and
believes in getting as much feedback as possible from his students.
Nigel
has been teaching at Yoga Junction since 1999 and became co-director
in 2002. |

| Susannah has been practising yoga since childhood. Her teaching style is intuitive and creative, drawing on her main influences of Hatha Yoga, Viniyoga and Astanga Yoga. Her dance background also brings into play a focus on alignment. Susannah’s classes have a meditative quality and work on the principles of ‘Sthira and Sukham’ – (form and experience, strength and softness). So although her classes can be quite demanding they are also deeply relaxing.
For Susannah yoga is about breath and bringing a sense of space and freedom to the body (freedom in Sanskrit translates as ‘love’). Yoga is an expression of this inner love, grace and beauty. Susannah teaches Hatha Yoga, kids classes, pregnancy classes. |

| Kate has been practicing yoga and meditation for a decade, and became a teacher in 2001. Her first love was Astanga Vinyasa yoga, and she studied twice in India with Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, completing the Primary and Intermediate Series. In 2005 she went to a John Friend workshop, and came away deeply motivated to explore the Anusara approach to yoga. In 2006 Kate became one of the few 'Anusara-inspired' designated teachers in the UK. She is immensely grateful to all her teachers for their compassion and wisdom, and aims to pass some of this on in her classes - in a fun and accessible way! |

trained by the British Wheel of Yoga, she has practised many styles,
but is mostly influenced by viniyoga, a style which is gentle but

This style is suitable for all level of practitioner as it can be
adapted accordingly. |

| Elizabeth has been practising yoga for 25 years and teaching for the last
five. She trained as a
teacher with Dona Holleman and Orit Sen-Gupta and follows the principles
described in their book Dancing the Body of Light: relaxing the body,
quieting the mind, intent, rooting, connecting, breathing, elongating.
Her classes include sitting, Pranayama and Asana. Sometimes the emphasis
in Asana is on precision and sometimes on flow, so that a dialogue
between the two is maintained. The practice of this style of yoga
develops an understanding of the physical body, the mind it expresses
and the
energy which moves it. |

Samantha Syer Became interested in yoga as a teenager and developed her practice further when she became pregnant with her first child. She realised that the way she interacted and played with her newborn was in essence what happens in a baby yoga session. It all became clear when she met Dr. Francoise Barbira Freedman, a medical and social anthropologist at Cambridge University and founder of Birthlight, a trust set up to improve the experience of childbirth and early parenting. Her classes were a haven for Samantha and her child. They would go to their yoga classes come rain or shine and it became part of their daily life together at home. Samantha trained with Birthlight and gained her Diploma in Baby Yoga and Massage |

| Julia has been practicing yoga since 1985. She started with an Iyengar practice and then became inspired by the Vini yoga teachings of her British Wheel of Yoga Diploma course teacher. She teaches a fluid, intuitive form of yoga concentrating on the link between breath and movement, while also using long 'yin' style holds to penetrate the connective tissue around the joints. She pays particular attention to the individual needs of the students, adapting postures to help them safely get the most from their practice. |
